Experiencing the Energy and Pride of Burundi (18 Jul 2026)
One of the greatest joys of living in Auckland is the opportunity to experience cultures from every corner of the world. Recently, JCTA had the pleasure of filming a wonderful cultural performance presented by the Burundian community.
What impressed us most was the incredible energy of the performers. From the moment the music began, the powerful drumming, dynamic dancing, colourful traditional costumes, and joyful expressions captivated everyone watching. It was impossible not to feel the pride they have in their cultural heritage.
Although Burundi is a country that many people in New Zealand may know little about, this performance beautifully demonstrated how music and dance can communicate emotion without words. The performers welcomed the audience into their culture with warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality.

オークランドに暮らしていて素晴らしいと感じることの一つは、世界中のさまざまな文化に出会えることです。今回は、JCTAがブルンジ・コミュニティによる素晴らしい文化パフォーマンスを撮影する機会に恵まれました。
私たちが最も心を動かされたのは、出演者の皆さんから伝わってくる圧倒的なエネルギーです。力強く響く太鼓の音、躍動感あふれる踊り、鮮やかな民族衣装、そして終始あふれる笑顔。その一つひとつから、自分たちの文化を大切にし、誇りを持って受け継いでいることが伝わってきました。
