JCTA (Japan Cultural Trust) is dedicated to fostering cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and New Zealand. Rather than simply introducing Japanese traditions, we create opportunities for shared experiences where people from diverse backgrounds can actively engage, participate, and connect.

Our Mission

Through interactive workshops, cultural events, and collaborative projects, we strive to build a space where traditions are not just observed but experienced together. By bringing communities together, we aim to deepen appreciation, strengthen relationships, and create lasting cultural ties.

Our Vision

We envision a society where cultural exchange is a two-way interaction—where Japanese culture is not only presented but also embraced, adapted, and celebrated in a way that fosters true friendship and connection.

How We Can Help

JCTA provides opportunities for individuals and communities to engage with Japanese culture in meaningful ways. Whether you are looking to host a cultural event, organize a workshop, or connect with experts in traditional arts, we are here to support and collaborate. Our trustees have over 20 years of experience contributing to Japan Day in Auckland, one of the largest Japanese cultural festivals in New Zealand. With this extensive background, we assist schools, organizations, and community groups in integrating Japanese cultural elements into their programs, fostering deeper cross-cultural understanding.
